Welcome Page

Welcome, new editor! We're very glad you've joined us. Here are pointers for a quick start. Also, when you get a chance, please read The Editor Role. You can look at Getting Started and our help system for other introductory pages. It is also important, for project-wide matters, to join the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list. Announcements are also available via Twitter. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any administrator for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and thank you! We appreciate your willingness to share your expertise, and we hope to see your edits on Recent changes soon. --Larry Sanger 21:22, 29 March 2007 (CDT)

Would you consider starting an article on the Labrador retriever? I'd be glad to help. Perhaps you have some pictures we could use? thanks for your consideration, Nancy Sculerati 14:35, 1 April 2007 (CDT) If you would, you'd have to upload them by clicking the Upload file under toolbox, and write that the pictures are your own work and that you release them for use by Citizendium. I've been making (for all of us) CZ:Image_Bank_-_The_Gallery_of_Domestic_Animals. I have not taken pictures yet of our new puppy-she is a Rottweiler show puppy and I'm just learning about AKC shows as an owner now. Nancy Sculerati 15:18, 1 April 2007 (CDT)

How absolutely beautiful!!!! We must make sure that you own the copyright to the pictures, so if a professional photographer took them, you likely don't. I bring this up because the pictures do look professional. The dog is gorgeous.Nancy Sculerati 16:16, 1 April 2007 (CDT) so here's what I have- gold girl in the puppy pictures. She's older now, and just wonderful - but I've been socializing her at least an hour a day. She is the smartest puppy I have ever been around. [1]

They are all my photographs. I once was a professional photographer. (Although, these days I can't seem to make a dime.) Switched to writing 25 years ago.
Not everyone may agree, but I think having a very smart dog is a blessing. It helps to increase our own intelligence :-) The importance of socialization for dogs cannot be exaggerated. Enjoy! I loved the pix of Gold Girl and her littermates. Oh, how I miss puppies. They grow up so damn fast.Andrew A. Skolnick 16:50, 1 April 2007 (CDT)

Hello Andrew. Thanks for your contributions to CZ! Please do me a huge favor and review the images you recently uploaded. They lack licensing information. Please see Help:Images#Copyrights and kindly remedy this situation. Thanks! - Stephen Ewen 01:05, 2 April 2007 (CDT)

Returning to Citizendium - an update on the project and how to get involved

Hello - some time ago you became part of the Citizendium project, but we haven't seen you around for a while. Perhaps you'd like to update your public biography or check on the progress of any pages you've edited so far.

Citizendium now has over 16,000 articles, with more than 150 approved by specialist Editors such as yourself, but our contributor numbers require a boost. We have an initiative called 'Eduzendium' that brings in students enrolled on university courses to write articles for credit, but we still need more Editors across the community to write, discuss and approve material. There are some developed Health Sciences and Journalism articles that could be improved and approved, and some high-priority Applied Sciences articles that we don't have yet. You can also create new articles via this guide, and contribute to some Health Sciences or Journalism pages that have been recently edited here and here - or to any others on Citizendium, since you're a general Author as well as a specialist Editor. You may like to contribute to discussions in the forums, and might consider running for an elected position on the Management and Editorial Councils that oversee the project.

If you have any questions, let me know via my Talk page or by leaving a message below this one. Thank you for signing up and reading this update; I hope that you will look in on our community soon. John Stephenson 05:53, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
