I can certainly start building up...
A rod and reel are probably the least used means of harvesting in a commercial fishery; they are used for some large, typically highly migratory species like tuna, but hookfishing is normally a long buoyed line with many baited hooks. Of course, there is a wide variety of nets, trawls, seines, and other capturing devices. There are dredges and other devices for shellfish, as well as things like lobster pots (i.e., traps). I must say we had a normally very bright and social cat wailing loudly when she got into a lobster pot in the back yard and wasn't sure how to get out. Howard C. Berkowitz 13:48, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
- Right. I wouldn't expect it to stay as the article is developed. Stephen Ewen 16:23, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
