Q-ship

A Q-ship was an armed merchant vessel used principally by the Royal Navy during World War I. Its armament was concealed and so it served as a decoy to draw enemy vessels into close quarters before opening fire. The Q-ships were often effective in the First World War but were deployed less in the Second.
