Peter L. Bergen (1962-) is an analyst of terrorism. He is CNN's national security analyst, ands Senior Research Fellow, American Strategy Program and Co-Director, Counterterrorism Strategy Initiative, New America Foundation He is an adjunct professor at the School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University and a research fellow at the Center on Law & Security, New York University. He has interviewed Osama bin Laden and was among the first newsmen to cover al-Qaeda.[1]
In 2008 he was an Adjunct Lecturer at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Born in Minneapolis and raised in London, he has a M.A. in Modern History from New College, Oxford University. He won an Open Scholarship when he went up to New College in 1981. Before that he attended Ampleforth.
