Bacteria
I fixed Bacteria, now do I need to edit this page somehow? How does someone know that the work is done? David E. Volk 08:16, 20 March 2008 (CDT)
- Umm, it's a category - i.e. you can't directly edit the list of items, only the explanatory text (if any). To remove something from the list, you have to remove the category tag from the page itself. Since that tag is being added by Chris's stuff automagically, you'd have to figure out why it's being added. (I looked, and didn't see anything obvious.)
- Note that categories aren't always updated correctly and instantly. Sometimes it can take a while (for the database changes to all be processed), and sometimes the incorrect categorization persists until the page is edited again. Patience! J. Noel Chiappa 10:42, 20 March 2008 (CDT)
- Pages on this list are here if there is something that needs updating in the metadata page. There is a todo list added to the talk page of such pages and this automatically adds them to this list. I note that David has already updated bacteria metadata page but the server is slow to update the categories. Bacteria will disappear from this list if the ToDo list on its talk page disappears (and it has). Chris Day (talk) 10:59, 20 March 2008 (CDT)
Note: This list will change dramatically shortly. I changed the parameter that adds the todo list. Almost all were added due to the variant field being blank. Since this is the case for many articles I decided this should not be a reason to be on this list. I am more interested in the few that do not have a correct status, workgroup or abc field. variant: default to AE?
PS, since most of the articles seem to be written in AE, why don't we default to AE, and let others change it to BE or CE, etc, if they so desire? David E. Volk 08:19, 20 March 2008 (CDT)
