Rodrigo de Andrade Kersten, PhD, professor at Paraná State Catholic University, Biologist, has studied the vascular epiphyte community os the Brazilian Atlantic rain forest since 1997, still during his undergraduate course. Gained his master degree (Botany-Ecology) working at Ilha do Mel State Park. For his PhD studies (nature conservation) he worked with ecology and biogeography along Iguaçu river, that cross from east to west Paraná State, going from the Atlantic forest to the seasonal forest. Has also collected plants from many parts of Paraná state and also on central Brazilian savannas (cerrado) and on Amazon forest. Has three papers and two book chapter publisher and two more paper on press. Nowadays is teaching botany for undergraduate students and continuing his work with vascular epiphytes.
