James Chang is 15 years old and is a sophomore in the [[IB Program]] at [[Stanton College Preparatory School]]. James began his [[piano]] studies at the age of four and [[violin]] studies at the age of seven. At the age of eight, Chang performed [[Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart]]'s Concerto No. 19 (1st mvt.) and received a standing ovation. He made his solo debut at the age of 10 performing an hour-long classical program in front of an audience of 300. He was also selected as one of nine finalists in the 11th Annual [[World Piano Pedagogy Conference]] in [[Atlanta]], 2006. His most recent awards include winning 1st place in the piano division of the 2007 [[Bach Festival Young Artists Competition]] at [[Rollins College]] and 2nd place overall. He and Kong Shi have also been selected to perform with the [[Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra]] in March as a duo team.
