Formerly the U.S. Atlantic Command, the United States Fleet Forces Command is the manager of Naval shore installations, and fleet resources to be assigned to the Unified Combatant Commands; it is also the naval component of United States Northern Command. It is directly subordinate to United States Joint Forces Command, but also provides guidance to the naval components of the geographic combatant commands.

Admiral John Harvey is the current commander, headquartered at Naval Station Norfolk.
