Manually adding and deleting it <s>sucks</s> is a non-starter, really. Approval has too many manual steps in it already. Can we test the value of __NOEDITSECTION__ directly? If not, we can always fall back on interrogating the value of the 'status' field from the metadata. [[User:J. Noel Chiappa|J. Noel Chiappa]] 17:29, 7 March 2008 (CST)

From the template documentation:

I'm sure this can be worked into the subpages template with ifexist perimeters. That way, it shows up by default and simply disappears when an article becomes approved. But for now, this template must be manually added, and then removed just prior article approval, since __NOEDITSECTION__ included in the approval fails to kill this template.

Manually adding and deleting it sucks is a non-starter, really. Approval has too many manual steps in it already. Can we test the value of __NOEDITSECTION__ directly? If not, we can always fall back on interrogating the value of the 'status' field from the metadata. J. Noel Chiappa 17:29, 7 March 2008 (CST)
