Maxine Lapiduss, born in 1961, is a comedienne and performer who has written for such television shows as Dharma & Greg, The Jeff Foxworthy Show, Ellen, Roseanne, and Home Improvement for which she was nominated for an Emmy in 1993. She is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School and received her B.F.A. from Carnegie Mellon University's School of Drama.[1][2][3][4]. Since appearing in Dawn of the Dead in 1978, Lapiduss has performed in such comedy clubs as The Duplex, Caroline's, Freddy's Supper Club, The Improvisation, Catch a Rising Star, and The Bottom Line. In 2002, she co-founded Steeltown Entertainment, which promotes filmmaking in Pittsburgh, and continues to serve on its board.[5]
