Church (religious body)

A church is an organised body of people following a particular religious faith, usually Christian, or a particular congregation of that body. The term also refers to the building, usually purpose-designed, in which such a congregation meets or has met.


World Council of Churches

An ecumenical organisation which describes itself as "a fellowship of churches which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the scriptures".[1] The members are largely Protestant or Orthodox churches. The Roman Catholic Church is not a member.
