Missiology in a general sense, may be defined as the study of the methods and means of gaining adherents of a religion, instructing these adherents in the tenets and practices of said religion, and of developing the infrastructure of the religions cult and other activities to the point where they are able to function fully, independent of any outside organization or entity.
