Central Asia [r]: A geographic area with many definitions, one common one based on the newly independent, predominantly Muslim republics of the former Soviet Union ^[e]

Pashtun [r]: Eastern Iranian ethnic group primarily located in southern Afghanistan and in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces of western Pakistan; their language is Pashto. ^[e]
