Gordon Lightfoot (1938-2023) was a Canadian singer-songwriter with a warm baritone voice. He was especially popular in the 1970's, lived in Toronto, and is known for hits such as "If You Could Read My Mind", "Early Morning Rain, "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" and "Sundown". Songs written by Lightfoot were covered by many other prominent singing artists, including Elvis Presley, Peter, Paul and Mary and Bob Dylan.
