Fabrique Nationale (FN) or FN Herstal (a member of the Herstal) manufacturing group is a Belgian country, with worldwide branches, known for creative design of firearms for military and sporting use. The Browning and Winchester tradenames are owned by FN.

Several NATO standard weapons, such as the M249 (machine gun) light 5.56mm MINIMI™ machine gun called the Squad Automatic Weapon in the U.S., the medium 7.62mm M240 (machine gun) variant of the MINIMI™ machine gun, and FN's version of the U.S. designed .50 caliber heavy M2 Browning (machine gun).

While out of FN production but still in wide use, with licensed production in the U.S. and Brazil, is of the FAL rifle, in both full-power and automatic rifle versions, with "cut down" short versions for police and special operations use.
