A Container port is a seaport with specialized equipment designed to load and unload intermodal shipping containers.[1]

Container ships are vessels designed to carry cargos consisting entirely standard sized shipping containers.[1] When docked in a container port specialized cranes can quickly load and unload the containers. larger container ports have other modifications for quickly loading containers onto other modes of transport, like railway flatcars, or large transport trucks.
