I've received a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies (Literature and Philosophy) and an MS in Information Management and Systems (Information Science) from UC Berkeley, and I was in a PhD program in Communication and Information Sciences (incomplete). After the BA, over a span of seven years I became a network engineer in industry, and after the MS, I taught university courses in networking, communication, and marketing for seven years. Since leaving the PhD program (since 2009) I have been a publisher and marketing consultant for organizations in South and Southeast Asia.
