Author PATRICK MENDIS, a visiting foreign policy scholar at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and the author of TRADE for PEACE, is a former military professor and American diplomat during the Clinton and Bush administrations. Dr. Mendis is an alumnus of the Harvard Kennedy School and the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. He is an affiliate professor of public and international affairs at George Mason University and a senior fellow of the Osgood Center for International Studies.
