Indole.

The indole heterocyclic compound is the side chain of the amino acid tryptophan as well as the parent compound for a family of related heterocycles. It can be thought of as the fusion of benzene with pyrole. Two tautomers of indole are commonly observed, the enamine form (1) and the imine form (2).
