Reconquer?
The phrase "reconquer the Confederate States of America" seems inappropriate here -- in a Civil War, when each set of states or territories is a part of a fractured whole (Federalist or otherwise), for either side to win would not seem to me to be for them to conquer the other! - Oh, thanks for pointing that out. "reconquer" is a little biased. But right now I can't think of a better one. Which term would you suggest? Yi Zhe Wu 21:36, 7 May 2007 (CDT)
- At this point, I'd just suggest cutting the phrase "a war led by President Abraham Lincoln to reconquer the Confederate States of America, a confederacy of eleven Southern states that seceded from the Union" since the wikilink to Civil War will take care of that; the appositive phrase isn't needed.
