Welcome to the Citizendium Pilot Project! The Citizendium (sit-ih-ZEN-dee-um), a "citizens' compendium of everything," is an experimental new wiki project. The project, started by a founder of Wikipedia, aims to improve on that model by adding “gentle expert oversight” and requiring contributors to use their real names. Note: in our first several months we were aiming to fork Wikipedia. We have decided, experimentally and provisionally, not to do so after all. That's why there are so many red links. See this blog post for more. Inactive Wikipedia-sourced articles have been deleted from the Citizendium, leaving a huge number of openings available for all citizens to start new articles.

These are all volunteers, contributing their time, energy, and profesional expertise in support of a shared vision.
