Featured Article is an award given periodically to a high-quality Citizendium article. These could be drawn from the ready for reading list or elsewhere per editor's choice.

Current article (since 30-09-2024)

Instructions

To change the Featured Article:

1. Edit the article to insert <onlyinclude> and </onlyinclude> around the text that you want to appear on the front page (probably the first paragraph or two, ideally with a picture - you can remove these when another article is featured);

2. Put the name of the article and nothing else in this template;

3. Put the name of the previous Featured Article at the top of the list below.

Formal policy

EC Decision D-2011-014, 28 February 2011:

The welcome page of the Citizendium shall display one or two featured articles.

If no other system of choosing and displaying articles is employed, then at least one article shall be chosen from our Approved articles on a rotating basis and shall thereafter be changed at least once a week.

Remark: This replaces the "Article of the Week" and the "New Draft of the Week" for the time being, or until another feature is installed.

Archive

List of previously featured articles.

Before May 4, 2011, there were two distinct categories of featured articles, which are archived separately.

Featured articles

Articles of the Week (before May 4, 2011)

New Drafts of the Week (before May 4, 2011)
