The Texas Rangers are a Major League Baseball team based in the Dallas, Texas metropolitan area. The team was founded in 1961 as the Washington Senators, an expansion team in the American League. Later, the team moved from Washington, D.C. to Arlington, Texas before the start of the 1972 season, when they became the Rangers.
They are not to be confused with the Washington Senators franchise that was an original AL team, later relocated to Minnesota and renamed as the Twins.[1] [2] [3]
Championships
The team has had one championship-winning season, winning the World Series in 2023. They were American League champions, but lost in the World Series, two times, in 2010 and 2011. [4] [5]
