:Only if we claim that all Jews are gangsters or that there is some Jewish trait towards gangsterism, a claim which I do not think this article makes.  It was certainly not my intention to make any such claim; neither was it my intention to make any comparison with [[White Argentine]].  The Purple Gang was a gang led by some Jewish brothers, just as O'Banion was an Irish gangster, and Al Capone was an Italian gangster.  If there are any claims in this article towards essentialism or racism please identify and/or correct.  Thanks.  [[User:Russell D. Jewish gangs

Meyer Lansky wasn't Jewish? See also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_Mafia. Some editing is needed here, I think. Hayford Peirce 00:12, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

The distinction that is trying to be made here is that the Purple Gang was almost entirely Jewish as opposed to members of other gangs one or two of whom (such as Lansky) happened to be Jewish. If my prose isn't making the cut, then take a cut at the prose, Hayford. Russell D. Jones 00:18, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
Hmmmm. I don't know much about the Jewish Mafia, Hayford. I'm just learning this stuff myself. Russell D. Jones 00:20, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

If White Argentine was racist, is this one anti-Semitic? Peter Jackson 11:07, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

Only if we claim that all Jews are gangsters or that there is some Jewish trait towards gangsterism, a claim which I do not think this article makes. It was certainly not my intention to make any such claim; neither was it my intention to make any comparison with White Argentine. The Purple Gang was a gang led by some Jewish brothers, just as O'Banion was an Irish gangster, and Al Capone was an Italian gangster. If there are any claims in this article towards essentialism or racism please identify and/or correct. Thanks. Jones, 18:15, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
