- June 17, 1631 CE (1040 AH) - Death of Mumtaz Mahal at Burhanpur in the Deccan.
- January, 1632 CE (1041 AH) - Mumtaz's body is moved from Burhanpur to Agra. Work has already started on the foundations.
- June 22, 1632 CE (1041 AH) - First 'Urs ceremony.
- May 26, 1633 CE (1042 AH) - Second 'Urs ceremony. Mumtaz body interred in the base of the mausoleum.
