Nord-Trøndelag (Northern Trøndelag) is one of Norway's 19 counties. The county is administrated from the city of Steinkjer, and the largest cities are: Steinkjer, Stjørdal, Namsos, Levanger and Verdal.
Politics
The local government is dominated by the Centre Party, and also the Labour Party has a strong position.
Nature
The county is divided by Trondheimsfjorden and Beistadfjorden. The landscape is pretty rough, but you can find large farm on the fields in Levanger, Stjørdal and Verdal.
Transport
It's railways from north to south, and all of the larger places are connected to the railway system. One of the main roads of Norway cross the county and follows the railway. In Langstein (north of Stjørdal) both the road and the railway pass a small egde of land, and if someone destroy the place they have divided Norway in two parts. Therefore, an extra road was built by NATO in the 1970's. The so-called "NATO-road" is just for military use.
