NOTE: I am copying the old Talk page contents from "Birth control" (now redirected to here) below to preserve it's usefulness. Pat Palmer (talk) 10:57, 22 January 2023 (CST)

removed speedy delete. There will be an article and this page now serves as disambiguation guide.

Thanks for fixing the link.--Peter A. Lipson 15:05, 3 May 2007 (CDT)

Double redirect

These entries are confusingly organized -- the "see also" link to "Control of Contraception" redirects to an artile which seems to duplicate the main Contraception entry, since it contains the same thing (a subsection on Christian views). This should be cleared up somehow or people searching this term are going to be led in circles. Russell Potter 23:03, 5 May 2007 (CDT)

This still seems to be a problem, can anyone clarify? Russell Potter 21:42, 7 May 2007 (CDT)

I don't understand why this article isn't titled birth control...perhaps I'm confused. --Larry Sanger 21:51, 13 May 2007 (CDT)

I have moved the following from the talk page of Contraception (medical methods), where it - as a general brainstorming on the topic of birth control in society, is not relevant to that developed article on much a narrower topic.Nancy Sculerati 05:55, 14 May 2007 (CDT)

One more thing. I think following a plan like this, some plan, is one way that CZ can distinguish itself from WP. As one who has perused WP articles in this whole category, they appear to me as largely a hodge-podge, especially at the lower level articles. ---Stephen Ewen 01:50, 14 May 2007 (CDT)

Reply by Nancy: I think that this kind of an outline is a really good idea. I wish I was better at wiki code, but as it is, I am going to try to fill in the outline you have made with some of the articles that have been started that fit there. There are some topics that Peter alluded to that also fit in, in a true web sense-like Eugenics and sterilization. **Contraception

      • Method type:medical-meaning medications and medical devices
      • Method type:natural family planning-meaning behavioral
    • Sterilization
      • Male
      • Female
      • Reversals

This is one article Sterilization (surgical) that covers vasectomy and various fallopian tube procedures - and reversals. Castration and forced hysterectomy with removal of ovaries will be discussed - but in Eugenics and other articles, - Eugenics and sterilization. These forms of surgical sterilization- as is explained in the articles, have been associated with abuse of human rights rather than elective procedures to change fertility. There is certainly room for more than one article on Eugenics. As for key historical figures, in the US there is Margaret Sanger- no relation?;-) . Nancy Sculerati 06:22, 14 May 2007 (CDT)

I meant each entry in the outline above to be not an outline for an article, but an outline for this entire series of articles. Each entry represents is an article title, not a heading to an article titled "Birth control". Stephen Ewen 20:26, 14 May 2007 (CDT)
